Historical Significance

This Rolls-Royce 25/30 Sports Saloon carries a fascinating history, having spent time in France, Hong Kong, and the USA before recently returning to the UK.

Early Provenance – Delivered to Little Colliers Farm

The car was originally delivered to Little Colliers (Colyers) Farm in Whelpley Hill, a Tudor-period residence built in 1552 during the reign of King Edward VI. The estate contains a Priest Hole, indicating its importance during both the Tudor era and the English Civil War. The house's rich history includes tunnels leading from the house, one towards the White Hart and another into the gardens.

French Connection – Les Andelys & Richard the Lionheart

In 1963, the car was registered in Les Andelys, France, a town famous for being the stronghold of Richard the Lionheart. This fortress, a key location in medieval history, was later immortalized in Walter Scott’s novel, Ivanhoe.

Transatlantic Journey – The Pepsi-Cola Connection

During the 1960s, this Rolls-Royce became a transatlantic traveler, making its way to the USA. It was later owned by the Director of Market Research for Pepsi-Cola, who became so enamored with the vehicle that he took it with him when he moved to Hong Kong with the company.
