Delage: A Legacy of Luxury and Speed

Founded in 1905 by Louis Delage in Levallois-Perret, near Paris, Delage quickly became one of France’s most prestigious luxury and racing car manufacturers. The marque was responsible for producing some of history’s fastest race cars and developing the first-ever V12 racing engine.

Delage shared the spotlight with Mercedes-Benz as one of the only manufacturers to:

  • Dominate Grand Prix racing
  • Win the Indianapolis 500
  • Hold the World Land Speed Record

The Delage D8: A Masterpiece of Elegance

Introduced at the 1929 London Motor Show, the D8 series became the most elegant model in Delage’s history. Equipped with a 4.0L straight-eight OHV engine, the D8 was renowned for its strength and performance, capable of reaching speeds of 140 km/h—an impressive feat for the time.

Between 1930 and 1933, only 625 examples of the D8 were produced, making it a highly exclusive and desirable luxury automobile.
